1. iRobot s8

This smart robot vacuum and mop is an excellent option for homes with a variety of. It comes with a fantastic navigation system with GPS and laser sensors. It also comes with many features and control options that can be accessed through the app. It comes with a useful feature that lets you create cleaning zones in areas that require additional attention, and Keep Out zones in areas that you don't want it to be. As with all Roomba devices, it receives new software updates that make it better over time.

It's expensive but it's also one of the most advanced robot vacuums that ZDNet has evaluated. It has a high-powered battery that can clean an entire home in less than two hours. Additionally, it can switch between vacuuming and mopping by pressing a button. It automatically emptys the bin of dust above its charging station, in contrast to other self emptying robots which require you to empty it after every run.

It has a wide range of other features that make it a good choice for homes of all sizes, including intelligent obstacle avoidance that utilizes both a camera and processor-powered smarts to see obstacles. It is rarely derailed or stuck during a cleaning cycle. In my tests it was the most effective at avoiding objects like power cables. It's not as precise at detecting pet waste or other hazards.

2. Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid

Eufy, owned by Anker is now an established brand in the world of budget robot vacuums. But it didn't offer an option to mop. The X8 Hybrid is a new model that offers a range of features that are advanced and can compete with more expensive models.

The main selling point of Eufy's the X8 is its laser navigation. The X8 uses a laser mapping system that is more accurate than previous Eufy devices. It also takes a lot less time to build up an accurate map of your living space and also stores multiple maps, which is ideal for multi-floor homes.

The X8 is a decent vacuum cleaner for floors with no dust. It is able to easily throw debris through the side brushes and into its 400ml dustbin. Its tyres are adept at hugging corners and edges even though they're circular. Our tests showed that it was able to remove 90 percent of the fur from hard floors.

There's a mopping mode which uses the same water tank as the vacuuming one. While this is good for spills that aren't too big but you cannot control how much water it uses and this will reduce its effectiveness for more severe stains. It is effective in removing hair from pets. It has a higher rate of pick-up than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

Awarded for its quiet and efficient home appliances, Miele's RX2 robot vacuum has excellent cleaning robot mop and vacuum power, gorgeous design and great navigation. There are a few niggles in its operation that prevent it from being considered the best smart robot vacuum.

The RX2 comes with a dual-sensor mapping system which uses LIDAR to map the space and a pair of 3D scanning cameras for detecting and avoiding obstacles (such as furniture legs or pet waste). Once the room is identified and assigned, you can designate virtual no-go areas and favorite sections to the robot. You can also change the cleaning options, begin an automatic clean, or view live feeds of the cameras onboard from the main screen.

The RX2 has excellent sensors that can detect furniture and other obstructions in a flash. The suction and sweeping abilities are outstanding, effectively taking away surface debris from carpets of medium pile and also removing embedded dust on floors. It's not the fastest robot on the market. Like many other robots it's not a great climber and has issues with things like thresholds made of metal transition strips.

Many people purchase a robot vacuum to enjoy the convenience of setting a schedule on an app and not thinking about it for weeks at a time. But it's important that a machine can do the job, which is why our ZDNet staff examined and reviewed a few of the most popular models to help you choose the best robot vacuum for large house one for your home.

4. Shark ION

This budget robovac that looks like any other, but has some extra features and a better performance. Its smart mapping system generates 3D and 2D maps of your home and uses them to navigate and avoid obstacles. It is able to detect common obstacles such as furniture legs and power cords in real-time. This combination of sensors, Vacuum Mops together with a bump sensor and an infrared drop sensor which keeps it off stairs is what makes it one of the most agile vacuums we've tried.

It was able to climb over the thick shag carpets and did not get stuck (unlike the RoboVac 11s, or Roomba 690-). Its navigation capabilities were impressive. Its composite score for flooring and carpet beats the competition and it was able to pick up 98.5 percent of surface litter and embedded dog hair from our lab test samples.

Its controls are a bit more basic than the competitors. There's an uniform cleaning button on the top. You can launch it via the app or by voice commands using Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also create a schedule for your daily or weekly cleans, set no-go zones, and view the history of its cleaning. In a smart dark gray plastics, Ion feels sturdy and is attractive in your home. Its rear dust bin is accessible for emptying and cleaning the filter is just as simple.

5. Eufy 11S

Eufy 11S is a good choice if you want an automated vacuum cleaner that is simple and has no frills at a low cost. It doesn't have many of the more advanced features, like digital mapping and Alexa integration, which are available in more expensive models, however, if you don't require these features, you can save cost with this model.

The Roomba is iRobot_s flagship robot vacuum. It's pricey however it's an excellent performer and arguably the most advanced robot vacuum you can purchase. Its self-navigation feature and environmental mapping is a marvel to behold. It has more advanced automation than its competitors, vacuum mops such as the capability to set up virtual boundary markers through its mobile application. It's a powerful robot vacuum, even if the app isn't the most responsive and the 980 spins when it is pushed over cables.

One thing we really like about the 980 is the fact that it utilizes its iAdapt 2.0 navigation sensors as well as visual simultaneous localisation and mapping technology (or vSLAM) to remember the floor plan of your home. It then uses this information to design a consistent and efficient cleaning path for every cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a more efficient vacuum than many high-end robotics.

Other features of the 980 include dual multi-surface brushes that grab dirt on floors and carpets, as well as a spinning brush to sweep debris into the robotic vacuum's bin. The sensors for floor tracking help it navigate across furniture and along edges, while Cliff Detect prevents the Roomba from falling down the stairs. It will also return to the base station for simple recharges between sessions.
