The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a fantastic option if you're looking for a robot vacuum and mop that's middle-of-the-road. It gives a great mopping experience, but doesn't have the features that make up its more expensive counterpart.

During tests, it was able remove pet hair and dry oats out of carpets with a medium-pile. It doesn't use LIDAR however, as cheaper models do, to locate your home.

Roomba s9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It is loaded with features and incredible cleaning power, including the dirt compartment integrated into the base of charging. The robot also learns your cleaning habits and suggest automatic schedules for a truly hands-free experience.

Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once everything is connected, you can start the automatic cleaning functions at the touch of the button. You can choose a general clean, which prioritizes the removal of larger particles like cereal and rice. Or you can opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that your entire home is cleaned thoroughly.

This robot vacuum is effective on both floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It is able to pick up pet hair and clean large items up. It doesn't lose suction as quickly as other robot vacuums. It's a challenge with plush or high-pile carpets, but iRobot promises that the next models will be more efficient.

The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that focuses on improving corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba that adopts an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes that this will allow it hug walls and furniture. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are common however we found it to be just marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with an improved filtering system that stops microscopic dust particles and Best Robot Vacuum and Mop allergens from recirculating throughout your home. We like the claim however, it's not enough to justify a premium price.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to store the structure of your home, and vSLAM to map the interior of your home. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, like stairs and other barriers and to tidy up your entire home in the most efficient way possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and create virtual boundary markers so that the robot knows which areas need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

When it is about robots that can combine mopping and vacuuming the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those on more expensive models and its mopping system is even better. Its spinning pads do a much better job of scrubbing floors than a stationary vibration pad.

The only drawback is that it does not have an additional rubber brush to provide more thorough cleaning, but that's a small cost to pay for if you are looking for one of the top robots available. The dust tank of the robo-vac is bigger than most of its competitors and filling it takes just two or three cycles, even when you've got the most dirt.

In terms of the mopping device, I was amazed by its ability to remove tough dirt from my floors. The two mopping modes that it has, which are less aggressive than the high-powered ones, create very little noise, which allows you to work or watch television without interruption. If it comes across the wall or a piece of furniture it gently bumps into it before moving along.

What really distinguishes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to run nearly autonomously with very little need for human intervention. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that automatically transfers physical trash to the bin hidden from view and washes and dry the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app is adept at nagging you only when something requires attention, such as the water tank being empty or a scheduled cleaning session having been canceled because of a full dust bin.

You can also create or merge rooms to customize the way that Q Revo handles your home. This feature is beneficial if you have different flooring in different areas of your home, or in the event that you have to regularly get rid of clutter like toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum was also among the top performers in my tests and was able to remove debris from carpets as well as hardwood floors in the first pass. It can even clean up spills that are wet but I would suggest wiping them dry using a clean cloth before bringing the robot into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo with all the features you could wish for. It has an omni-rotating mop as well as a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets and hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has an auto-cleaning station that automatically washes and empties the mop pads, keeping them clean and ready for reuse. It also has a sensor system that can detect obstacles better which allows it to avoid falling on furniture and other objects.

The most significant improvement to the ECOVACS the X1 Deebot is its sleeker, more modern design. This is thanks to Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. Although it's still quite large--it's more than two feet in height and depth and weighs almost four pounds--the entire robot and its base are less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

This version is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and can clean 1,500 square feet in one charge. It also has a bigger and more robust dust bin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that works even if you are not at home. It also has more mopping options and an intelligent routing feature that gives it the flexibility to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead just following a specific path.

The Omni X2 Omni has the best mopping performance of any robot we've tested, because of its mop pads rotating to clean tough stains away and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. The vacuuming capabilities are also top-notch, and it boosts suction when it detects a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It is equipped with a large, rechargeable battery that lasts up to a week. The mopping mode of the robot is also extremely effective.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a premium model that comes with a variety of features that aren't typically found on robots of this price. It can build precise floor maps, recognize different types of flooring and is one of the few robots that automatically wash and dry the mop pads. But while these functions are useful however, they also put the L10s Ultra in the luxury category which could make it somewhat more expensive than some homeowners need.

Designed to look like a contemporary floor cleaner The L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device with an elegant white finish that's enhanced by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by a large bumper, which protects furniture and the vacuum from damage when moving through the home. Behind the pane at the front is a second navigation technology in the form of sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button which is used as an on/off switch. By pressing this button, you can activate the vacuum, and clicking it again will shut off the vacuum and send it back to its base station. The central control panel has an oblique menu that allows you to select cleaning modes, schedules, and preferences. The left and right buttons below the screen will bring up the settings menu of the app where you can tweak the way that the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.

Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technologies to help you map out your home. This creates a detailed floor plan that enables the robot vacuum and mop with ease, without getting stuck in cluttered areas. The LIDAR also lets the robot vacuum detect and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for families with children or pets.

The L10s Ultra has a solid vacuuming capability, clearing 98.4 percent of the debris from our hardwood floor test and taking out all but the most difficult juice stain. Its mops are also quite efficient, removing 98.4 percent of debris from our wood, tile and carpet tests. However, it wasn't quite as great at tackling sand on the hard floor and quaker oats on the carpet.
