The Q Revo is a fantastic choice if you're looking for a robotic vacuum and mop that's mid-range. It gives a great mopping experience, but it lacks the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.

During testing, it was able remove pet hair and dry oats from medium-pile carpets. It does not use LIDAR, however, as other models do to map your home.

1. iRobot Roomba S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top robot vacuums. It offers impressive cleaning power and a variety of features that include an automatic dirt bin built into its charging base. This robot can recognize your habits for cleaning and recommend automatic schedules to give you a truly hands-free cleaning experience.

It's easy to set up thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning functions with the click of the button. You can choose a general clean that prioritizes the removal of large debris such as cereal and rice or two thorough maps of your area to ensure your entire home is properly arranged.

This robot vacuum is effective on floors that are unfinished and carpet with a low pile. It can pick up pet hair and sucks big objects up. It doesn't lose its suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It's not able to work with carpets that are high-pile or plush, but iRobot claims that future models will be better.

The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that is focused on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba that has an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes this will allow it to fit into the furniture and walls. It's a nice improvement over the traditional hockey puck shape of most robovacs, though we discovered it to be only incrementally better than circular models.

iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with an advanced filtration system that blocks micro-sized particles and allergens from circulating in your home. We think this is a nice claim however, it's not enough to justify a premium price.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to keep track of the layout of your home and vSLAM to map the interior. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles like stairs and other barriers, and to clean up your entire home in the most efficient way possible. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, and create virtual boundary markers, so it can recognize areas that require more attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a machine that combines mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those found on higher-end models. Its mopping system is better because its spinning pads clean your floors better than a vibrating pad.

The only drawback is the absence of a second brush for deeper cleaning. However, it's not a major issue if you want to own one of the top robots available. The robo-vac's tank for dust is also bigger than those on many of its competitors and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even at the highest dirt level.

In terms of the mopping system, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. The two mopping modes that it has, which are less aggressive than the higher-powered ones generate minimal noise, allowing you to work or even watch TV without interruption. If it comes into contact with a wall or piece of furniture it gently smacks into it before moving forward.

The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac can be multi-functional and will automatically move garbage into a bin hidden. It also cleans, dries and refills the clean water tank. The app will only notify you if something is wrong, such as a low clean water tank or a cancelled vacuuming session due to a full bin.

You can also combine or create actual rooms to alter the way Q Revo treats your home. This is a great feature if you have multiple areas of the home with different flooring materials or if there's some items that need to be cleaned out frequently, like toys, clothes, and books. The robot vacuum was also among the top performers in my tests cleaning up debris from carpets as well as hardwood floors on the first pass. It can vacuum up even wet spills. I recommend drying the area with a towel prior to sending it in.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum that comes with all the features you could want. It also has self-cleaning bases that automatically empty and cleans the mop pads, ensuring that they remain them clean and ready for use again. It is able to build detailed floor maps, detect various flooring types and is one of the few that can automatically wash and dry its mop pads. While these features are nice to have but they also make the L10s Ultra more in the luxury category, which might make it slightly more expensive than what some homeowners require.
